To help you out a bit, I’ll review one of the most popular online paid survey sites, Opinion Outpost. I’ve been using the site for quite some time, and want to give you a rundown of Opinion Outpost’s good points and the bad.
Opinion Outpost: Is it a scam?
Nope! In short, Opinion Outpost is not a scam. It’s a legitimate community where users can trade their opinions for points. Once a certain number of points are accumulated, you can switch those points out for cash, for Amazon and iTunes gift cards, or you can donate the money to a charity.
As with any site, you’ll see a healthy range of good and bad reviews. However, I’ve found that with most survey sites you’re going to need to invest a little time in the website before you see good results. With Opinion Outpost, you can earn anywhere between a measly $2 and a couple thousand bucks each month. As Eric Clapton once said, “It’s in the way that you use it.”
Opinion Outpost: Getting started
Before you can begin to make money on Opinion Outpost, you’re going to need to set up an account. You can join with one of your social media accounts, like Facebook, or you can start from scratch. Here’s where I’m going to just be honest with you. Signing up for an account takes forever. Forever, I tell you! You’re going to sit in front of your screen for at least 30 minutes, answering basic questions about yourself, your income and your family.
But it’s a necessary evil. Once you answer all of the initial questions, Opinion Outpost will use your answers to determine which surveys you qualify for. So, with that said, please do take the time to fill out all of the survey questions. It’s going to save you a lot of time and frustration later. Take your time with it, too! Opinion Outpost will let you know that they had concerns with your answers if you answer too fast.
Once you’re done filling out your personal information, you’re ready to get started. Click the button that says “Take A Survey” and you’ll be directed to your first paid opportunity.
Opinion Outpost Review: The Good
You won’t read too many negatives in this Opinion Outpost review. The site is easy to use, the layout is clean and uncluttered, and there’s not much to complain about. The surveys are quality surveys. In other words, you won’t feel like you’ve clicked around for an hour only to earn two dollars.
The surveys themselves vary in how interesting they are. I once filled out a 30 minute survey on my health insurance, and found that to be quite tedious. But there are other topics ranging from pet care to kid care, and you can skip anything you don’t like.
The payout is quick and painless. You only need 50 points to cash out an Amazon gift card, or 100 points for ten bucks in cash. On average, you’ll get about 15 opinion points per survey, so it adds up very quickly. And the payout is instant if you choose Amazon or PayPal.
Opinion Outpost Review: The Bad
Again, there aren’t too many negatives to Opinion Outpost. Here’s the biggest complaint that I do have, though: you’re not given a lot of choice. There are a huge number of surveys on Opinion Outpost, and most of them “pay” pretty well. But once you’ve put your personal information in there, the site will essentially choose surveys for you.
If there were a way that I could select, say from a list of available surveys, that would be ideal. Instead, I’m made to go through 30 minutes of checking boxes about hospitals in my area, and I’m never quite sure how many points I’ll be paid.
There are also times when I’ll be assigned a survey and will answer two or three questions, only to be told that there’s already been enough response for the question. I’ve learned that this only happens on rare occasion, though, and have thus far refrained from throwing anything at my laptop screen.
Opinion Outpost Review: The Verdict
All in all, Opinion Outpost is a great way to make extra money online. It’s not a scam, it has a lot of survey options, and the payout is actually quite good. If you’re looking for ways to make money online, you can’t beat Opinion Outpost.
