• Now you will want to start disputing items. Each of the credit bureaus is a little different on how they want you to send in disputes. Some allow you to do it online, others you may have to mail in a letter. Reminder: When you are filling out disputes, you will need to send a dispute to each of the credit bureaus where the items you are disputing appear. Here is how this works. By law credit reporting agencies have to verify the legitimacy about any and all items that appear on your credit report. The companies who are reporting the negative items have 30 days to reply verifying that your debt is indeed valid, if they do not reply within those 30 days the items fall off.
